Schluter Rectangular Shelf for Prefabricated KERDI-BOARD-SN/-SNLT Niches

Schluter-SHELF-N is a wall storage system available in brushed stainless steel or aluminum in a range of textured color-coated finishes including stone grey, pewter, cream, ivory, greige, bronze, dark anthracite, matte black, and matte white. The shelves are 5/32″ (4 mm) -thick and feature designs coordinating with the KERDI-DRAIN and KERDI-LINE drain grates. They can be used in showers and other tiled wall applications (e.g., kitchens and baths). SHELF-N is a rectangular shelf that fits the prefabricated Schluter-KERDI-BOARD-SN/-SNLT shower niches. It is installed in conjunction with the tile.

How to Install Your Shelf

1. Install the tile up to the joint where the SHELF-N will be placed.

2. Place the SHELF-N on the tiles with the rounded edges facing the inside of the niche.

3. After the grout has set, seal the joint between the SHELF-N and the wall tile on the top and bottom surfaces with sealant that is suitable for the application (e.g., silicone.)

4. Allow the sealant to cure prior to using the SHELF-N.

In showers and bathtub surrounds we recommend that the sealant be designated as suitable and recommended for use in wet areas by the manufacturer. In these applications 100% silicone is typically the best option.
